A SCARCE .450 SIX-SHOT REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAMS'S PATENT', serial no. 10914
built to the patent standard of July 12, 1861, with later conversion to central fire circa 1872, blued octagonal London proved 6in. barrel integral with the frame, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to rear of standing breech, swing-out under-barrel ejector-rod retaining the cylinder arbor, plain blued long cylinder, action sides attached to the frame via screws, the right hand side engraved 'ADAMS'S PATENT' together with a trademark, double-action trigger mechanism, chequered walnut one-piece grip, iron butt-cap with swivel for lanyard, the whole retaining a remarkable amount of apparently original finish
